Darren Windus has announced his entry in this year’s Quit Forest Rally, the second round of the 2010 Australian Rally Championship to be held in Western Australia on April 17 and 18.

Windus has leased a Neal Bates Motorsport S2000 Corolla for the event, the same car he drove in last year’s rally. Windus set three fastest stage times in 2009, and led Heat 1 prior to a puncture which dropped him down to third place. An accident mid way through the second heat brought his campaign to a premature end.

Windus said, “I can’t wait to get back into the car again. We’re looking forward to the increased competition this year and although the tyre package is an unknown quantity at this stage, we are confident that we can be competitive again this year.”

Experienced co-driver John Allen will again join Windus for the WA event.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back into the S2000 with Darren. I was really surprised and excited to have been leading the 2009 event considering Darren and I had never worked together before and I’m feeling really confident that we can repeat that performance again this year,” Allen said.
