WRC driver crashes safety car in NZ club rally

Junior World Rally Championship competitor, Dave Holder, was left with egg on his face after rolling the double zero car in last weekend’s Hanmer Rally in New Zealand.

Holder was running as a safety car in a borrowed Ford Escort, but pushed a little too hard over a jump at a spectator point.

As seen in this brilliant Geoff Ridder photo, the Escort got way too much air, and the rest, as the say, is history.

The Escort rolled onto a tree stump, and while the damage was only superficial, it wasn’t the result Holder would have been wanting.
