The Realistic Car Rentals entry of Garry Yeomans and Kam Baker, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4, dominated the field to take victory in the fifth round of the Northern NSW Rally Championship - the 2006 Bago 100 Rally, based in Wauchope.
The result has secured them the Northern NSW Rally Championship.
A class field of 35 rally crews faced the starter’s flag last on September 30 to contest the rally, held over eight special stages covering 115km competitive in the forests of Wauchope and Kendal.
The rally attracted the state’s top crews with valuable points on offer for the much sort after Novice, Excel, Gemini and Northern NSW Series.
The event was dominated by Yeomans and Baker following the demise of local favourite Peter Roberts, who succumbed to mechanical failure early in the rally. Yeomans led right from the first special stage and dominated by winning every special stage.
Final outright placing’s were Yeomans/Baker first, Steve Slade/Con Constantine second in another Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4, with Brian Van Eck and Nigel Bland third in a Lancer Evo 3.
