Neal Bates’ eldest son, Harry, has proven that rallying runs in the Bates blood with an impressive performance in his first competitive event.
Twelve-year old Harry Bates entered his first motorkhana recently, driving a rear-wheel drive T22 Celica – a 1973 model.
Both Neal and Harry competed in the tarmac event, with Bates junior getting quicker with each run.
On the final test of the day Harry was only 0.06 seconds slower than his three-time national champion father!
