World Rally Champion Tommi Makinen had a ride in a Finnish airforce F18 Hornet and was almost lost for words at the experience. "That was an incredible performance – it was really something. We could borrow a few horsepower! It's impossible to tell you exactly what it is. I went up to 7.5g," he said. "I was also flying a little bit and did a complete loop – just straight up and backwards, then to the left harder and harder and harder, up to 5g and then up to 6g, but then I had to give up. It was too bad, but it was very nice." Mitsubishi's lead driver occasionally samples alternatives to his well-proven Lancer. A keen snowmobile driver during the Finnish winter, he also tried a Williams F1 car on the Barcelona race track two years ago.
