The Australian Rally Championship has announced a new initiative that will seek to enhance manufacturer involvement and standing within the ARC.

Ben Rainsford, ARC board Chairman, commented: “The board has decided that for this year that the manufacturers of all cars used by competitors in the ARC will be automatically registered to receive points toward the Australian Manufacturers' Title.

"The ARC recommended - and this was supported by CAMS – to abolish any manufacturer fees for 2010. As a result, we now have eight manufacturers registered for the championship in 2010. We see this as a great opportunity for the manufacturers to showcase their products and brand."

The manufacturer's title will be decided from the best six results scored by each registered manufacturer.
