Young Canberra rally driver Adrian Coppin has unveiled the outrageous new livery his car will carry during this year’s Australian Rally Championship.

The livery features a visually striking black and white muscle and sinew look designed by Canberra design studio Inklab.

“When you don’t have a major sponsor but want to get noticed, you need to be dramatic or different to be noticed.  So I told Inklab what I wanted to achieve and they came up with this design.  I think we’ll get noticed and I love it,” Coppin said.

The team spent time with Inklab looking at paint schemes on rally cars globally and were underwhelmed.  There were a few standouts because they injected their own personality like the Monster Energy Ford Fiesta WRC.

“We don’t have a Monster budget, but we took a few pointers from the graphical nature of the design.  I think we have shown you can be different on a budget,” Coppin said.

The Inklab designers wanted to reflect the core values entwined with the concept of innate ability.  These were interpreted as Primal, Raw, Inborn, Instinctive and Ingrained.

The team also announced its sponsors for 2012: Inklab, Landscapes Direct, Penrite Oil, Shannons Insurance and Total Traction Service.

The team will contest the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Rally Challenge as well as the Australian 2WD Rally Championship, the Privateers Cup and the International Cup.

"We are excited by the season ahead and with our new livery and our sponsors we are set for a great year,” Adrian said.
