Quit Forest Rally organisers are delighted to announce that the City of Busselton has signed on as a sponsor of the event for a further three years, carrying sponsorship through until the 2017 event.
The 2015 Quit Forest Rally will be the 15th running of the event in the region. The event will be the second round of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC), as well as the opening rounds of the West Australian Rally Championship and the West Australian Clubman Cup and is set to attract the nation’s best rally, side-by-side and moto competitors.
“We are delighted to announce this ongoing partnership with the City of Busselton, who have been vital in making the Quit Forest Rally one of the most prestigious events on the ARC calendar,” said Quit Forest Rally Event Director Ross Tapper.
“The Quit Forest Rally strives to highlight everything we as organisers love about Busselton and Nannup; bright blue waters, rugged cliffs and magnificent forests together with the welcoming atmosphere for which the region is famous. We hope that this will encourage the national television audience to travel to this region, either to attend the rally or simply just to visit this beautiful part of Western Australia,” Mr Tapper said.
City of Busselton Events Coordinator Shane Walsh says the Council is continuing their support of the Quit Forest Rally as it is a key part of the impressive calendar that has elevated the Busselton/Margaret River region as Events Capital WA.
“The Quit Forest Rally has been held in Busselton and Nannup for 15 years and continues to grow,” Mr Walsh said. “It sits proudly alongside other key annual events such as Ironman Triathlon Western Australia, the Southbound Concert, the Busselton Jetty Swim, the Festival of Busselton, the Beach Festival, the Festival of Triathlon, the Busselton Agricultural Show and Geographe Bay Race Week.”
From the super special stage held under lights around the Busselton Foreshore, to the gravel stages contested in the Nannup Forest; the Quit Forest Rally is keenly anticipated by locals and brings hundreds of people into this great region every year.
“The City of Busselton shares the love of rallying and revels in being amongst the action that this event constantly delivers. We are counting down to the 2015 event and can’t wait to welcome all the competitors, their crews, families and rally enthusiasts to Busselton,” Mr Walsh said.
The new partnership also comes with an increased level of support from the City of Busselton, which Quit Forest Rally organisers say will allow the event to keep entry fees down thereby encouraging more competitors to contest the rally and enjoy everything the region has to offer.
“We are aware that it’s an expensive exercise for teams from the East Coast to attend the Quit Forest Rally,” said Mr Tapper. “This increased support will enable us to make it more cost-effective for national teams – as well as local crews – to contest this great event. The Quit Forest Rally is organised to challenge competitors and thrill spectators and the support of the City of Busselton, alongside our other great sponsors, makes this all the more possible every year.”
The 2015 Quit Forest Rally will be held from 27 – 29 March, in the towns of Busselton and Nannup.
