The popular Classic Outback Trial (COT) will be run again from August 18-25, 2018, with Alice Springs to play host each day, following the successful event in 2016.
The rally will catering for four competitions, each with its own winners. These will be the Classic Competition for cars up to 1988, Modern Competition for cars post-1986, Cross Country Competition for cross country cars, and a Regularity Competition for all-comers.
Foreign entries will be permitted, in accordance with the FIA International Sport Code. Four entries were received in 2016 and it is anticipated that some 10 international entries will be attracted to the 2018 event, principally from Europe and New Zealand
A week-long adventure in Australia’s Red Centre, the event will begin each day against the backdrop of the magnificent MacDonnell Ranges at Lasseters Hotel/Casino, and run in a series of loops to and from Alice Springs each day, providing crews with a central main service hub.
With 35 special stages planned, ranging in length from five to 120 kilometres and offering a great variety of challenges, from fast roads to tight technical rugged mountainous roads and dry creeks beds, the 2018 Classic Outback Trial is expected to be bigger and better than ever before.
Early bird entries are now open until July 31 this year, with all entries closing at the end of July 2018.
