Canberra driver Adrian Coppin has celebrated a successful debut season with celebrations at the NSW State Championship and ACT Championship presentation nights.

Coppin added to his silverware collection by receiving the trophies for 2nd outright in the NSW Rallyschool.com.au Excel series, 3rd outright in the ACT Clubman series and the 2010 ACT Rally series encouragement award.

The early part of the 2011 season will see Adrian focussing on building another hot hatch, this time a Toyota Corolla Sportivo.   The Sportivo will use the proven 1.8L fuel injected engine that has enjoyed success at a national and international level in the same body shape as the Corolla NP successfully campaigned by Neal Bates in the Australian Rally Championship a few years ago.

“Realistically, at this stage I hope to have to the car built by mid-year to give me a chance to compete in a couple of local events as a shakedown, with a view to contesting the final round of the ARC, Rally Victoria.  Then in 2012 I’ll chase the Junior Australian Rally Challenge,” he said.

“I really would really like to debut the car in the ARC section of Rally Australia but I’m still working on a budget to make that happen,” he added
