The genteel folk of Sydney’s North Shore are quite fond of literary events but a literary evening of a very different nature is in store on Monday 6 August when five times Australian Rally Champion Ross Dunkerton will be centre stage for the night discussing his recently published biography and his career behind the wheel.

Dunkerton will be the special guest at a North Shore Sporting Car Club evening upstairs at the Greengate Hotel on the Pacific Highway at Killara to talk about his rallying exploits from the past five decades in the sport contained, many of which are contained in the biography, which is simply titled Dunko!

The former Nissan, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Ford, Volvo and Holden works driver and general all round larrikin will have the room rolling in the aisles with his accounts of the many amusing times he has had in a career that also aw him capture an Asia Pacific Rally title and a podium finish in a WRC event.

Copies of  the Dunkerton biography will be available for sale on the night and Ross will be signing them after the evening concludes.

A full car will be in operation for the night and a small door charge of $5 will be in place to cover expenses for North Shore Sporting Car Club, which is staging the literary event. The  $5 charge will also give entry to a lucky door prize with a range of items to be won on the night.

The event kicks off at 7.15pm and meals are available downstairs in the pub bistro before the meeting with drinks at bar prices throughout the night.

This will be one of the few chances   Sydney enthusiasts will have to hear the great man speak about his new book so make sure you pencil Monday 6 August in your diaries and get along to The Greengate Hotel 655 Pacific Highway (corner of Greengate Rd.) Killara
