DustTrails, Episode 14: Jim Reddiex’s astonishing rallying career

You can be forgiven for not knowing the name Jim Reddiex, but the legendary Queenslander’s story is one that you need to hear.

Aboard a Citroen DS23, Reddiex was part of a three-man team who comprehensively won one of the toughest rallies the world has ever seen – the 1974 London – Sahara – Munich World Cup Rally.

It took inspiration from the London-Sydney Marathon, but all of Reddiex’s experience was needed to get him up to speed to win the long, tough rally.

Now 85, Reddiex’s memory is still razor sharp, and he tells RallySport Magazine’s Peter Whitten about his adventure of a lifetime.

He also tales from other marathon rallies around the world as well as working with the likes of Ross Dunkerton and ‘Dinta’ Officer and details what his role is in rallying nowadays.

Sit back and enjoy the chat with Australian Rallying Hall of Fame inductee, Jim Reddiex.
