“Well, you can’t say for certain how we could have finished, other to say that we did the best we could,” Will Orders commented at the end of a frustrating Telstra Rally Australia.

After placing as high as 13th on the first day, Orders came back to claim plenty of top 15 stage times in a car that was repaired overnight after a roll on Leg 1.

“The boys did a great job to get the car going again for us and despite our roll over, we still set some good times. The roads were great, but I can’t say the dust helped. In one stage we caught the guy in front of us, but it was impossible to pass him, Orders said.

“We could not get reseeded, so we were behind a lot of slower guys.

“Our plan was to go to Rally Australia and get the best result we could. Pirelli came on board and I would like to thank them for their support. We could not have finished without the dedication of our crew, Mike, Ron and Bill, all helping when it was needed,” he added.

“Toni (Feaver) did a great job and the notes were great. You can’t go fast in Perth if your notes are no good. I would like to thank all of our sponsors and we hope to be back next year.

“We both want to thank Michael Thompson for providing us with the Subaru and without guys like Michael we could not have rallied at all this year. He put his faith in us and we drove as hard as we could.

“One thing we proved all year was that pump fuel can deliver results and in the process, save a lot of money. You don’t need race fuels to go fast,” Orders added.
