The German Rally Championship (DRM) has been officially cancelled for 2020, due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic.
After several event cancellations, only three rallies remained on the calendar, which the German motorsport board deemed as too few to constitute a championship.
"The Deutsche Motorsport Bund (DMSB) as the rights holder and the ADAC as the promoter of the German Rally Championship have come to the conclusion that three races remaining in the calendar do not give a fair sport rating and have therefore decided the title of the German Rally -Master 2020 not to be awarded," an official release stated.
"The ADAC Rallye Masters taking place as part of the DRM will also not be held this year."
ADAC and the DMSB will now start planning the 2021 season early in order to set up a calendar for the coming season.
