Big news from India is that Gaurav Gill has split with his 12 year commercial sponsor MRF Tyres, and has made a deal with MRF’s rival.
He has signed with the company JK Tyres, with whom he worked at the start of his career.
JK state that the six times national champion driver is to compete in at least three WRC2 events, but in which season is not known.
Gill is to continue driving for Mahindra on Indian events this year, although it's not known if this will be with MRF.
The future of MRF’s earlier intention to develop WRC tyres through an ongoing programme of international participation is unknown, but does not look likely at this time.
