Healthway first supported the Forest Rally in 1995 and after the completion of the 2012 Quit Forest Rally it will be 18 years of continuous support.  Â
Originally the support was through the Respect Yourself campaign to encourage people to drink responsibly and for the past six years it has been the Quit smoking program. The Quit program is managed by the Cancer Council of WA.  Â
The 2011 Quit Forest Rally will run on the weekend of April 15-17. Clerk of Course, Ross Tapper, said: "We are very grateful to Healthway for their continued support. To have the support of Healthway for 18 years has been a great achievement.
“We are proud to have also worked with Healthway to promote a healthy lifestyle for West Australians. By promoting the Quit program we assist in reducing the number of people smoking, which is Australia's leading preventable cause of death and disease."  Â
The Forest Rally was first run in 1983 as a round of the WA Rally Championship. It became an Australian Rally Championship event in 1985. Since that time the event has continued to grow in strength.
For the past 11 years it has been based in Busselton and Nannup in WA's South West.   The event is now a Motorsport Extravaganza. As a round of the Australian Rally Championship it will also be part of the Australian Rally competition for classic cars and Super R2 Rally Challenge. It is also part of the WA Rally Championship and Clubman Series.   Â
In 2010 it introduced motorbikes in a Moto Category running after the cars and all indications this group will increase with popularity. And while the rally is underway there is also the Shannons Busselton Sprint for tarmac cars running on the Busselton Toyota Special Stage.  Â
Close to 200 cars and bikes will be competing in Busselton and Nannup over the weekend. Healthway are also great supporters of Quit Targa West and the WA Rally Championship. Â
