Garet Thomas has driven his Subaru Impreza WRX STi to a 17 second victory in the six stage Catlins Rally in New Zealand's South Island.
The event saw a high rate of retirements, including the first seeded Andrew Graves in a Lancer Evo 3 after he went off the road on stage five, while in the lead.
A pair of Lancer Evolutions took second and third place, with Job Quantock and Dean Bond in the top three, followed by Sean Haggerty's Subaru, and another Subaru driven by Matthew Wright.
The first two-wheel drive car home was the Ford Escort RS1800 of Regan Ross, nearly half a minute clear of Jeff Judd's similar car.
The pair were sixth and seventh, with the top 10 rounded out by Mark McMillan (Subaru Legacy), Marcus van Klink (Mazda RX8) and Barry Mills in a Hillman Avenger.
Young gun Robbie Stokes was 11th in his Ford Fiesta R2.
Matt Summerfield was the second fastest on many of the stages in his Subaru Impreza, but 71st fastest time on stage four saw him finish 58th.
Deane Buist had been in line for a podium place in his Volkswagen Golf GTi, but slipped from third to 18th on the final stage.
