BP-Ford World Rally Team driver Mikko Hirvonen leads team-mate Marcus Gronholm by 15.5 seconds at the end of Leg 1 of Rally Norway.  The Finn won only two of the days stages, to Sebastien Loeb's five, however they were both on the Loten stage, the longest of the day.

Loeb finished the Leg in third place, citing a poor tyre choice for impeding him on the long stages.

Aussie Chris Atkinson stuggled with the balance on his Subaru, but is confident his pace will increase as the rally progresses.
