The 2013 National Capital Rally had highs and lows for the team at FroSport Internationale. After a slow start, the team was running as high as third in the Classics category before a driveshaft failure left them to watch the rest of the field drive by in Kowen Forest.

Always trying to look to the positive, the team is focussing on getting the car ready for the long trip west to Busselton for the QUIT Forest Rally.

Fro Horobin, team driver said, "At least we had this failure here at our home event before we made the haul to WA. While it might seem like this year's QUIT Forest Rally is a month away, we are already wishing there were a few extra days to spare. The car is back in the shed with the rear end disassembled, and we are getting some custom differential and driveshaft components made to ensure that we are ready for the challenges over West."

Fettling the 36-year old car takes a lot of preparation before each event, so the car will be spending some quality time at PCD Engineering before heading back to FroSport Internationale HQ where it will get the attention of the team in final preparations. The car needs to be ready in three weeks to allow to get the car and service equipment to Busselton in preparation for the event.

"We wish more Classic competitors were with us heading over to WA. Neal Bates and Jeff David will be over at Otago, and Keith Callinan will be in Mexico, so at the moment it's just us and Mark Beard heading to Perth. It's looking like a Datsun challenge! Neal (Bates) has been really great in offering his advice. Having never competed at the QUIT Forest Rally before I'm keen to take on board all the tips I can, particularly from someone like Neal who's done so well over in WA."

Regular co-driver Greg McPherson has committed to co-driving for WA local Rob Webber, so standing in for him at QUIT Forest Rally will be 15-year old Nick Ryan.

"Nick co-drove for me at Targa Wrest Point earlier this year in a RallySchool.com.au Evo6, and he did a sterling job. So when Greggy was committed elsewhere, he got the call up. I really look forward to having Nick on board."

The 2013 QUIT Forest Rally runs from Friday 5 April to Sunday 6 April, with forest stages around the township of Nannup, and a Busselton Foreshore SuperSpecial Stage run on Friday and Saturday nights.
