Finnish driver Jari-Matti Latvala is pleased with his eighth place in this year's Rally New Zealand. Latvala was forced to retire on Leg 1 of last year's event, and was happy to complete this year's rally, taking one championship point for his efforts.
The tall Finn told RallySport Mag just before his departure for Finland that he enjoyed the twisty and mostly smooth roads of this year's rally. "In many gravel rallies in Europe you are always looking for rocks on the road, but that is not so much of a problem here. I enjoyed the twisty roads very much", he commented.
Latvala and his team are now heading home to prepare for Wales Rally GB, the final round of this year's WRC.
