Belgian driver Francois Duval won the 2005 Rally Australia, when it was the final round of the world championship, and never had another full time top team professional drive and never won another world championship rally.

Now, 27 year old Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen, after winning the final round of the 2016 season, again in Australia, and hearing the devastating withdrawal news from his team Volkswagen, hopes the same fate does not await him!
Hopefully Mikkelsen still has time on his side, as teams do not have to enter Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo and register their championship attendance until December 16th.
The French say: “plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose”. The more it changes, the same it is.
