New Zealand is expected to be included on the 2020 World Rally Championship calendar when it is released in the coming days. The big loser will be Australia, who have been left off, but RallySport Magazine understands that New Zealand's deal is only for one year, and that Australia may return to the calendar in 2021. Corsica and Turkey will also be omitted from the 2020 calendar. The on-going saga of when the calendar will be released has been going on since June, yet Rally Australia CEO Darryl Ferris, was unaware of any such decisions regarding next year. "As far as I'm aware, the calendar hasn't even gone to the FIA to vote on yet," he told RallySport Magazine today. "My understanding is that they have a vote on the calendar, then it is announced a day or so after that, so I'm expecting it early next week." However, an unconfirmed calendar published by multiple sources on Twitter this morning shows New Zealand as the fourth last round next year, with Kenya and Japan also being added. The Japanese round looks like being the season's grand finale.
