Scott Pedder commenced his motor sport career competing in Autocross events in 1992. He then progressed to the Victorian Club Rally Series in 1998, and the same year moved into big time competition as a co-driver in the Sony Playstation Round Australia Rally finishing 6th Outright.  Determined to further his rally career, Scott moved into the Victoria Rally Championship, winning the title in 1999 and 2000, the youngest driver ever to win the championship. With strong backing from his family company, Pedder then contested the Australian Rally Championship in 2001-2006, 2010 and 2013-2014 driving for the Pedders Rally Team, then Mitsubishi Ralliart and Swisse Renault and Walkinshaw Renault teams. Scott won the Australian Rally Championship in 2014 in a Renault Clio, the first victory for the marque since 1970. Altogether he has won 8 ARC Events, had 25 ARC event heat wins and 22 ARC Event podiums. In a short foray into the Asia Pacific rally series driving for Mitsubishi Japan for the 2008 Asia-Pacific Championship he achieved 4 event podium results. Pedder then decided to taste European rallying, competing in the Rally Finland WRC round in 2015 finishing 14th Outright and 4th WRC2 on debut. He ran Rally Portugal WRC in 2016 finishing 14th outright and 4th WRC2 The pressure of helping to run the highly successful Pedders Suspension business curtailed Scott’s active rallying and he turned to supporting the sport on the organisational side. RallySport Magazine | Australia's Best Rally Magazine He became CEO of the Australian Rally championship from 2011 to 2013, introduced G2/2WD Regulations which brought Manufacturer Support from Honda, Renault and Citroen and introduced the Power Stage to ARC events. In 2012 Scott experimented with a concept to confine an entire ARC event to one small area using Calder Raceway but the idea did not continue. His active mind produced many other concepts including the East Coast Bullbars SUV Challenge, Australian Side by Side Rally Challenge (Polaris Vs CanAm), the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Rally Challenge, TV coverage by Channel 10, ONE and Foxtel of the Australian Championship, championship naming rights sponsorship from Bosch and East Coast Bullbars and a one make tyre sponsor for the ARC (Kumho). A significant contribution to the safety of rallying came by his decision to make the Rallysafe tracking system mandatory in ARC events, a move that has filtered down to benefit all levels of rallying. Scott Pedder was awarded the CAMS Motorsport Service award in 2013 and was appointed Director of Rally Australia, Australia’s round of the World Rally championship from 2012 to 2015. He has contributed enormously to the sport of rallying in this country and is a great inclusion into the Australian Rally Hall of Fame.
