Mt Porepunkah Rallysprint returns this September

Memories of Alpine Rallies of old will be unearthed in September when the popular Mt Porepunkah Rallysprint returns to the forests around Bright in North East Victoria.

Ged Blum pushes his Hyundai hard in the 2013 Mt Porepunkah Rallysprint.The event hasn’t been conducted since 2013, but with the roads to be used now in better condition than in years past, entries are expected to fill fast.

The Mt Porepunkah Rallysprint will be the first round of the recently-announced Riverina North East Victoria Rallysprint Challenge, and will be held on September 9.

Based on the Back Porepunkah Road, just out of Bright, the event will feature two stages of 8km in length, travelling up Mt Porepunkah and down the other side.

Two runs of each stage in the morning will be followed by a further two runs in the afternoon, running in the other direction.

Competitors are able to pace note the course via a controlled, one pass reconnaissance early on Saturday morning.

Supplementary regulations are currently being finalised and will be available soon.
