No wheel spin starts will be enforced at the Victorian Rally Championship 'Yarra Valley Stages Rally' in September. Organisers of the Western Victorian Crane Trucks sponsored event have decided to take what they believe to be a positive step forward to reduce the foot print the rally leaves in the forest. "We all agreed that this won't detract from the excitement of the rally. The WVCTVS will still have some of the best roads in the VRC," an event spokesman said. No wheel spin starts have been a feature of many Victorian events in the past, including the popular bi-annual Alpine Rally. The Yarra Valley Stages will be held on Sunday, September 16, and features:
  • 139km competitive
  • Only 135km transport
  • One-minute intervals between cars
  • Yarra Glen service park
  • Pacenoted VRC
  • Road book Victorian Club Rally series
Supplementary Regulations are due out in around five weeks.
