With only 12 points separating series leader, Will Orders, from Tasmanian Simon Jansen, the Motorsport parts / Administr8 Rally Team have checked every nut and bolt in the Subaru Impreza in readiness for this weekend’s final round of the ARC – the NGK Rally of Melbourne.

An “Ordered drive” is the instruction from team principal Michael Thompson.  “Our goal is to win the BP Ultimate challenge,”. he said. “That trophy for us will mean a lot. We also lead class P5 and hope to win our class as well in the ARC.”

Thompson announced this week that he will support Orders by providing the car for Telstra Rally Australia in November. “Whilst the rally has little benefit for our team, we hope to showcase Will’s talent on the world rally stage and Rally Australia is our logical choice to just that.”

“Whilst the prize for wining the BP Ultimate Challenge is only a trophy, it’s hoped that BP will support the ARC next year with a larger program that may entice young blood into the sport. Young up-and-coming drivers need help to compete as it’s very costly at ARC level. One way is for prize money to be paid for placing well,” Thompson commented.

“For our team the learning curve to develop a competitive car has been hard and we have proved that you can run close to the front on pump fuel. It’s been a great cost saving this year for our team using pump fuel and we think it should be mandated for next year’s ARC. The cost savings are too great for the sport to ignore.

“Will has done a great job for us this year. After going so close to taking out the Subaru RS Challenge last year, he has matured into a fine driver. Toni (Feaver) has proved to be a more than capable co-driver for Will and they make a great team. 2007 is a new year and we are still working on our plans,” Thompson added.

TSV Holdings join the team as sponsors  for Melbourne and Orders has a fun day in store for their sponsors’ clients prior to the rally in a car from yesteryear – a well prepared Datsun 1600 owned by TSV.  The invited guests are in for some great sideways action!

A cool head this weekend should hopefully deliver the team’s goal of a win in the BP Ultimate Challenge. After running as high as third outright in the recent Rally of SA, don’t be surprised to see Orders in the top five on what is his home event.
