Upson, 41, is well known in World Championship circles having managed the New Zealand event from 1998 until 2005, during which time the event won the prestigious Rally of the Year Award. He is currently Brand Manager for Land Rover New Zealand.

Gary, his wife Nicola and two children will take up residence on the Tweed Coast within the next few weeks. A new Repco Rally Australia office will be established in Murwillumbah early in November.
