The premier rallying body in New South Wales has undertaken a major rebranding ahead of the 2014 rally season with the launch of the new Rally NSW website - www.rallynsw.com.au.
Â
According to NSW Rally Panel chairman Colin Fletcher, the new website will play an integral role in revitilising the sport on a state level.
Â
"We realised that members of the New South Wales rally community were becoming disconnected with the series and we identified the website and social media as a means to bridge the gap to fans and competitors," said Colin Fletcher.
Â
"The new website offers much more than just news and information about the series. It's been planned to re-connect with the rally community and make it a site rally enthusiasts want to regularly go to."
Â
The new Rally NSW website has been designed more like an online magazine rather than a news based website and features columns from rally characters Ed Hooligan and the famed aficionado Barry the Gnome.
Â
There is also a series columns from a technical perspective and a female's insight to the sport as well guest columns planned throughout the year.
Â
Rallynsw.com.au will also serve as the one stop destination for information, regulations, image galleries, videos and news for the Gary's Motorsport Tyres New South Wales Rally Championship, Techworkz Development Series and Excel Rally Series.
Â
"It was important to make Rallynsw.com.au the central hub for anything to do with rallying in New South Wales," added Colin.
Â
"We've ensured there's something for everyone from technical information to fun and entertaining content like Barry the Gnome's column."
Â
The 2014 Gary's Motorsport Tyres New South Wales Rally Championship, Techworkz Development Series and Excel Series will be launched 15 February at a function at Parramatta Park.
Â
Four rounds make up the New South Wales Rally Championship in 2014 starting with the Canberra's NatCap Rally held 1-2 March. Rally of the Bay, held at Bateman's Bay, will take place 7-8 June before the series heads north for the Border Ranges Rally 2-3 August. The final event, Tumut Rally, will round out the series 18 October.
