Rallying returns to Victoria’s Ovens Valley in September with the running of the North Eastern Car Club’s Mount Porepunkah Rallysprint.

Directed by former Australian Rally Champion Navigator, Ross Runnalls, the event will be based in the popular tourist town of Bright, and will offer competitors a quality event over two 8km stages, run four times in each direction.

“The selected roads have been used in past Alpine and North Eastern rallies and provide two significant eight kilometre climbs and descents of 460m and 700m respectively over Mt Porepunkah,” Runnalls said.  “While the climbs are good fun, the descents will really test the driver and vehicle brakes.  The roads are solid, reasonably tight and twisty but not rough.  64km will have never seemed so much!”

The field for the event is limited to 30 cars, so intending competitors would be advised to get their entries in quickly.

Because of the remote area the event is being held in, the best spectator locations will be at designated road closure points along the route.

Supplementary Regulations for the Mt Porepunkah Rallysprint are now available, can can be downloaded from the NECC website: necc.netc.net.au
