Former Privateer Cup Champion, Queenslander Stewart Reid, is preparing his ex-Neal Bates Group N (P) Corolla for the QUIT Forest Rally, to be held in Busselton and Nannup from April 4–6.

After making his ARC comeback at the season ending NGK Rally of Melbourne last year, Reid will contest the full Australian Rally Championship in 2008.

“We’re raring to go. I’m getting heavily into a personally-designed fitness regime to improve my in-car performance levels and can’t wait to go flying through the forests again,” Reid said.

Reid is itching to get back behind the wheel and will join a host of Eastern state crews crossing the Nullarbor to contest the QUIT Forest Rally.

“I’m really looking forward to going rallying again and I think the competition is going to be very tough this year.

“The Forest Rally is a great event and it will be good to see all the changes that have been made since I last competed in 2006.”

Reid, who finished sixth outright in the 2006 Australian Rally Championship, will be joined by an estimated 13 other teams from the eastern states in making the trek to the event.

“We are really happy with the responses we’re getting from interstate teams and as always, we will do everything we can to make their event enjoyable,” QUIT Forest Rally Clerk of Course, Ross Tapper, said.

“The West Australian officials look forward to interstate crews coming over each year and each year strive to put on the best possible event for them,” he continued.
