Scouts SA has announced that it will be the naming rights for the 2013 Rally of South Australia, the fourth year in succession it has been the major commercial partner for the rally.

The event, which is scheduled to be the third round of the 2013 Australian Rally Championship and is also a round of the South Australian Rally Championship, will announce a slew of exciting developments with new stages, new locations and new partners in coming weeks.

"The aim of scouting is to encourage the physical, intellectual and social development of young people so that they may take a constructive place as members of their local communities," said CEO of Scouts SA, Dan Ryan.

"Getting our Scouts involved in many levels of a national motor sport event will serve that aim very well and provides many relevant opportunities and experiences."

"Scouts is all about action, adventure, challenge, fun, teamwork and being the best you can be and not surprisingly so is rallying," he added

CEO of the Australian Rally Championship, Scott Pedder said the sponsorship was a significant vote of confidence in  the direction  the sport has taken  and the work which has been done to raise the profile of rallying in Australia.

"Having the Scouts organisation commit to again Rally SA comes at a time when the sport is attracting ever more manufacturer support and when new generation rally cars are being introduced to the Championship, adding significantly to the prestige of the ARC and in turn to Scouts Rally SA.

"Next year will be a watershed in the history of the longest running national championship in the world," said Scott Pedder.

"This continuing sponsorship demonstrates a high level of confidence in the sport of rallying in general and in us as an organising group," said event director and clerk of course Ivar Stanelis.

"I am absolutely delighted that Scouts SA has come on board again and it is exciting to have such strong ties to the largest youth development organisation in South Australia.

"I am confident it will continue to be beneficial to both organisations," Ivar Stanellis added.

Scouts will showcase its own motorsport activities at the Mount Crawford Special Stages and the Scout Recycling Centre will also come into play at all venues while there will be many opportunities to fill volunteer roles at all levels during the event.

Scouts SA prepares young people for business and community leadership and aims to help them achieve their full potential.  Goals, principles and values, and further information are at www.sa.scouts.com.au.

Scouts Rally SA will be held in the Barossa Valley, Mt Barker and Adelaide regions between 24th to 26th May as round three of the 2013 Australian Rally Championship and also as a round of the South Australian Rally Championship.

It will also feature with MOTO racing at Mt Crawford, the popular Classics category and many other exciting categories.
