A second Hyundai i20 R5 is to compete on the TER (Tour European Rally) series this year.

This is a car run by the BRC Racing Team for 43-year old Giandomenico Basso, who was FIA European Rally Champion in 2006 and 2009 with a Fiat Grande Punto S2000, and is the reigning Italian national champion with a Ford Fiesta R5.

This car will be run by the BRC Racing Team based in the western Italian town of Cherasco.  A

lthough the team is run as promotion for BRC Gas Equipment and the team also runs a special gas powered car in national events, Basso’s car will be a traditionally fuel powered vehicle.

The other Hyundai in the TER series will be run for Korean driver Chewon Lim on behalf of Hyundai Motorsport by the HMI team at Predosa, near Alessandria.

First round of the TER series is the Transilvania Rally in Romania in early May.
