Simonsen/Searcy take out Tango

International circuit racer Allan Simonsen and co-driver Ben Searcy have taken victory in the inaugural Lake Mountain Tango.  Held in unseasonally cold conditions, with light snow and intermittent rain falling over the weekend, the event was contested over 11 stages.

Simonsen finished the weekend a surprise victor in his Mitsubishi Evo 9, ahead of young Victorian Eli Evans with Chris Murphy alongside (Subaru Impreza WRX Sti), and winners of last year's sister event TheLake Mountain Sprint, Tasmanians Jason and John White (Lamborghini Gallardo).

Cody Crocker and Ben Atkinson (Subaru Impreza WRX Sti Spec C) followed up their impressive second place in last November's Mt Buller Sprint, finishing in fourth place.
