Australian Rally Championship leader, Eli Evans, was the fastest driver on the shakedown stage for round four of the series, Subaru Rally Tasmania, this morning. Driving a Skoda Fabia R5, Evans was just 0.17 of a second in front of the similar Skoda of Adrian Coppin on a short, fast and slippery stage using gravel access roads at the Symmons Plains race circuit. Third place was Steve Glenney in a lighter and more responsive Subaru WRX, three tenths of a second in front of Harry Bates' Toyota Yaris AP4.

Marcus Walkem's debut drive in the Peugeot 208 AP4 saw him in fifth place, just two hundredths of a second clear of Molly Taylor's factory Subaru in sixth place. The rally begins with a short super special stage in Launceston tonight. Weather conditions in Launceston have been cold and wet, with slippery conditions expected over the two days of competition on Saturday and Sunday. See this morning's shakedown times HERE.
