Australian Rally Championship leader, Eli Evans, was the fastest driver on the shakedown stage for round four of the series, Subaru Rally Tasmania, this morning.
Driving a Skoda Fabia R5, Evans was just 0.17 of a second in front of the similar Skoda of Adrian Coppin on a short, fast and slippery stage using gravel access roads at the Symmons Plains race circuit.
Third place was Steve Glenney in a lighter and more responsive Subaru WRX, three tenths of a second in front of Harry Bates' Toyota Yaris AP4.

Marcus Walkem's debut drive in the Peugeot 208 AP4 saw him in fifth place, just two hundredths of a second clear of Molly Taylor's factory Subaru in sixth place.
The rally begins with a short super special stage in Launceston tonight.
Weather conditions in Launceston have been cold and wet, with slippery conditions expected over the two days of competition on Saturday and Sunday.
