After the entry of 20 Word Rally Cars for last weekend’s Neste Rally Finland, only 12 WRC cars are on the list for the next world championship round, the all-asphalt Rallye Deutschland.  Â
There will be only one non-championship Citroen, which is for Stephane Lefebvre, while among registered teams, Hayden Paddon is relegated to the secondary Hyundai team. Â
The event qualifies for the FIA’s Junior world championship and also the Drive DMack Fiesta Trophy. Â
There are 28 R5 cars including four Fabias entered by the Wevers Sport team for Dutch and Danish drivers. Â
The event (to run 18-21 August) signifies the start of the tarmac WRC season, which starts in Germany and then moves on to China and Corsica, before the mixed asphalt and gravel round in Spain. Â - Martin Holmes
