Citroën Sport Director Guy Fréquelin profited from the carmaker's traditional pre-Paris Motor Show press conference in Paris to unveil the new Citroën C4 which will spearhead its assault on the 2007 World Rally Championship.

"We will be making our official return to the WRC in just a few months' time now with the Citroën C4 which has been built and developed to permit the brand to re-conquer the Manufacturers' and Drivers' World Championship titles," announced Automobiles Citroën's Managing Director, Claude Satinet.

"The Xsara years are about to end and I am counting on everyone at Citroën Sport to make the Citroën C4 era just as glorious," added Guy Fréquelin, who paid a resounding tribute not only to his team but also to the triple Manufacturers' World Championship-winning car."

In addition to a new car, the 2007 campaign will see a new crew competing alongside 2004 and 2005 World Champions Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, since Guy Fréquelin has announced that Spaniards Dani Sordo and Marc Marti – Junior World Rally Champions in 2005 with the Citroën C2 Super 1600 – have been chosen to help the brand rise to this new challenge.
