The official presentation for the WRC Wales Rally GB took place last week at the spectacular English location of Cholmondeley Castle, situated near Malpas in Cheshire. This is again to be the scene of major spectator attractions, culminating in an asphalt special stage which the event will visit late Saturday afternoon, before returning to Wales for two stages held in darkness. Ben Taylor, Managing Director of Dayinsure Wales Rally GB, said: “Our aim is to build on the success of last year, which was already a fabulous event. We have a really strong route, with 300km of stages through the legendary Welsh forests, and it’s brilliant to be going back to Chester and Cholmondeley Castle again.” Ken Skates, Welsh Government Economy Secretary, spoke about the event’s connection with neighbouring England: “Cholmondeley Castle today is an excellent opportunity for us to emphasise the benefits of cross-border working – which is especially the case in the automotive sector. “Effective cross-border working is essential if we are to attract investment and achieve maximum benefits.” The event Service Park and Headquarters will again be sited in the Deeside industrial zone in England, near Chester.
