With the popularity of other sports that are conducted at the end of the working day to take advantage of Perth's balmy summer evenings, now the rally fraternity can join them. The Perth Motorplex is just 30 minutes south of Perth and provides an excellent facility to run Rallysprint's with a challenging combination of roads, car parks and drag strip.Â
The 3.50km course will be run four times on each evening. Crews will have the opportunity to pace note the event prior to the 6.30pm start time.
"Drivers can also have different co-drivers on each run providing an opportunity for sponsors, supporters and potential new co-drivers to experience the thrill of rallying," event organiser Dieter Von Mollendorf said.Â
"With the increased popularity of tarmac rallying, these events are an ideal opportunity for new crews to gain experience and experienced crews to keep their hand in and have some fun over the summer months."Â
SpeedAware Director, Rohan Green, was excited about being able to assist a new Rallysprint Series and said "SpeedAware are always keen to support events where drivers have the opportunity to improve their driving skills in a safe and enjoyable location."Â Â
Fellow SpeedAware Director, Alister McRae will attend events when not overseas competing on the international rally stage. He will be driving the Zero Car and will be on hand to provide driving tips. He will also be providing hot lap experiences on the circuit at selected rounds.
