Since writing a series of letters to this magazine with “my view†on the sport and what I believe would help it recover, I have been inundated with emails, some supportive and some not.
The people who didn’t support my ideas about a “Schedule R Class†(Group G) have there own ideas and some have merit, but the amount of support from those has been impressive.


What I am most surprised about is the age groups; some are from the “old school†but there are many young and future champions who see worth in the idea.

I am pleased to say, along with fellow supporters from at least two states, there will be an “allcomers class†in two ARCs. Perhaps the current economic climate and lack of entries help open the eyes of various organisers and officials to allow this to happen.
I only hope that this is the beginning to help the sport recover and that other officials in other states can see merit in the idea of allowing “modified cars†to compete.

Which ever way it came about, I congratulate the organixers, officials and CAMS to allow this to happen.


For those in other states who don’t support the idea, please don’t stand in the way of those that do. At the end of the day, I have always supported the sport and had no intention of damaging it; I merely could not sit back and watch the slow and painful death of a great sport.
