The first round of the Whiteline Tarmac Rallysprint series, to be held at Sydney International Dragway, has a maximum field of 100 cars, three weeks before the event.
This follows the five rounds held last summer with capacity fields of 90 entries each. That’s now six events in a row with full fields.
“We are pleased to have this entry list and sad actually,” said club President and event director, Brett Middleton.
“The sheer numbers tell us we are delivering what crews want, but personally I hate telling people they cant compete.
“We can actually run more cars, but it means a late night, so we have to set some limit.”
The five round series starts on Thursday, October 19th, with over 54 entries booked in advance for all five rounds.
“We have now stopped accepting series entries as we want to allow flexibility to other teams for individual entries, although we expect crews to now just go on our website and book for the other rounds,” Middleton added.
The event runs a 3km course on 100% asphalt roads within the confines of Sydney Dragway, starting at 6pm week nights. The event is also a huge social gathering for anything motorsport.
Food and coffee is available, with free spectating.
