The popular Rallye des Femmes (Ladies Rally) was held around Canberra on Saturday and to prove that competition is no less fierce between the fairer sex, the event resulted in a three-way tie for first place.
Equal first honours went to Cathy Donohue/David Stephens, Kate Bowler/Rodger Pederson and Kelly Caruana/Robert O'Toole whose times could not be separated throughout the day. Emma Burough/Martyn Deahm were next home, followed by Karen Garnett/Russell Dixon.
Molly Taylor made her debut in one of the Neal Bates Motorsport Toyota Corolla's, leasing the car for the event. She and co-driver Dale Moscatt ran as car 0 and Molly commented that she was amazed with the grip and power of the Corolla compared to her Mitsubishi Mirage.
Simon and Sue Evans also used the event as 'test', and once again Simon impressed spectators with his driving style.
The popular event was run by the Brindabella Motor Sports Club, with competitors praising event director Mark Kent for another excellent rally.Â
