Organisers for WRC rounds 11 (Catalunya) and 12 (Wales Rally GB) have both announced changes to their Thursday evening routes. Â
Tir Prince amusement park in Towyn will be the venue for the start of Wales Rally GB.It was announced last week that Catalunya Rally will not return to Barcelona city for the spectacular special stages in Montjuic Park, but on that day cars will remain in Salou, ready for the start of the event the next morning. Â
Now Wales Rally GB announce that they will not return to Colwyn Bay for the ceremonial start, but start the event at Towyn, near Abergele in the Tir Prince retail and amusement park, where there will be a super special stage at the adjacent harness racing track. Â
Although only 1.7km long, this will constitute a third stage now to be run on the event in darkness, but will be floodlit. Â - Martin Holmes
