Mitsubishi Ralliart driver, Scott Pedder, has all but ruled out contesting this year’s Australian Rally Championship.

Speaking to RallySport Magazine today, Pedder said that all hopes of driving his Lancer Evo 9 in this year’s championship had just about gone.

“It’s looking very, very, very unlikely that we’ll be doing the ARC,” he said.

“Mitsubishi have all but confirmed that we won’t have a budget for gravel rallying, but there could be a possibility that we will do some tarmac events,” he added.

Pedder said that team boss, Alan Heaphy, has a meeting at Mitsubishi in Adelaide tomorrow to discuss the season ahead.

“It looks like 2007 will be a quiet year. I’d like to try and make sure that I can return to the ARC in 2008,” Pedder said.

He added that if Mitsubishi didn’t have a future in the Australian Championship, he and Heaphy would consider other options, including building a Super 2000 car.
