Hanging out until the very last minute to lodge your entry for Australia’s Round of the World Rally Championship? Well don’t miss out if you want to gauge your prowess against the World’s best drivers with this Tuesday (13th August) marking the closing date for WRC entries.

While the front-running VW’s, Citroen’s and Ford’s fight it out for overall honors Australia’s privateers will battle for the prestige of being first Australian home.

Coates Hire Rally Australia also caters for the East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship, the SUV Rally Challenge, the 4WD National Rally Series, the Classics as well as the Side by Sides and has something for everyone. Entries for these groups will close Thursday 22nd August.

“Based on the Coffs Coast of New South Wales once again, the event will use the most popular roads from our 2011 edition and introduce some exciting new Stages with shorter road sections to deliver a more compact overall route,” said Clerk of Course Adrian Stafford.

The ECB ARC & 4WD National Rally Series competitors will contest the full 352km rally distance over three full-on days of action, while the Classics will tackle a shorter route over the three days as will the SxS who will use a different  selection of roads.

“We have linked two Stages from 2011 to form a challenging 50km test over fast-flowing, open-country shire roads, which were among the most popular with drivers last time. Other stages range from just 8km in length in tighter forest conditions, to ensure a good mix and exciting challenge,” Stafford continued.

“A new Rally Hub in downtown Coffs Harbour incorporates a new Super Special Stage and Service Park. The SSS is based on a “colosseum-style” velodrome and will feature two cars with simultaneous starts on the oval then out into the streets of Coffs Harbour before finishing back in the oval.”

The rally itself kicks off on the afternoon of Thursday 12th September with a Coffs Harbour CBD ceremonial start, before the action kicks into high gear with the first blast around ARMOR ALL Super Special Stage at Brelsford Park.

Then it’s into three days of non-stop rally action as the WRC and ECB ARC crews tackle 22 special stages before the podium celebrations back in Coffs Harbour on the Sunday afternoon.
