South Australian Guy Tyler will take on some of his home State's tightest roads this weekend as he makes his first appearance in the 2013 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship as part of the Scouts Rally of South Australia.
A shortage in sponsorship for Tyler in the lead up to this season has prevented him taking part in the opening rounds of the series, thus he has been working on preparing the 777 Rallysport Renault Clio to be at its best ahead of his home event.
“I’m very excited for the rally. Due to funding constraints, Scouts Rally SA will be my first event this year and I can't wait to get back in the drivers seat and fly through the forests,” Tyler said.
Tyler will again take part in the top level Junior class in the country, and the 23 year old is looking to use his knowledge of the local roads to his advantage towards the final of the series later in the year.
“My aim for the rally is to win the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge category," (for junior drivers aged under 28).
“It's going to be a close and personal battle as the other junior entrants, Michael Busby, (Mazda RX7) and Henry Nott, (BMW 130i) are both close friends of mine, but I am confident myself and Damian (Navigator) can make it a good fight. The little Clio is the underdog, but I will be driving it as quick as I can,” Tyler concluded.
Round 3 of the East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship, the Scouts Rally SA, will take place on May 24-26 through Mt Crawford Forest and surrounding environs, South Australia.
