Well known Tasmanian motor sport identity Ken Roddam, 62, passed away on Thursday, December 3, following a serious heart attack.

Although small in stature, Ken was big in his involvement in the sport for the past 40 years. He could be a feisty character and was a powerhouse in the Tasmanian rally world. He was particularly heavily involved in club and state rallying.

He was involved with Targa Tasmania from its inception in 1992 and was Deputy Clerk of Course for a number of years before taking over as Clerk of Course in 2004, and held this role until last year.

Ken also helped out in senior officiating positions in numerous mainland events, such as Classic Adelaide, Australian Safari, Grand Prix Rally, Outback Trials and the Bega Rally. His great value was that he would do whatever was asked of him.

We extend our sincere condolences to Ken’s sons Jason and Nathan, and his sister Fran.
