Pedders Suspension Rally Team will enter a RaceTorque Engineering prepared "Unrestricted" Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X for young West Australia Driver Tom Wilde in at least the first two rounds of the 2012 BOSCH Australian Rally Championship.

The 24-year old West Australian won the inaugural 2011 Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Rally Challenge (4WD) and finished a fine third outright at last years' Rally Victoria, the final round of the 2011 BOSCH Australian Rally Championship.

According to Pedders' marketing director and CEO of the Bosch Australian Rally Championship, Scott Pedder, the opportunities far outweigh the costs.

"From a pure commercial and competition perspective this year is off the charts in terms of value and opportunity. The Bosch ARC is on the way up and Pedders want to continue to be a big part of that success," said Scott.

"Rallying is in the fabric of the Pedders DNA and with Mark moving to Honda we have the opportunity, still having all the Lancer Evo infrastructure, to support Tom."

Pedder is full of praise for the young West-Australian and was keen to offer support, saying,"I think Tom's drive in Victoria last year went pretty much unnoticed by most but I reckon it was the best drive since Simon Evans won the 2003 Rally of Melbourne as a privateer.

"Tom was a 24-year old kid, with a brand new co-driver, doing his first event on this side of the country in an old car against really strong opposition," he added.

"Most importantly, outside of the car Tom has shown the personality, dedication and professionalism it takes to hopefully be an Australian Rally Champion in the years to come and it is great to be able to assist in the next step in his career.

"I have no doubt that Tom has the ability to win and we will put the right resources, including a RaceTorque car and team under him, and see where things lie after round two," Scott said.

Tom Wilde, who works for his family's cheese production company in south-west Western Australia is delighted to be given this unique opportunity.

"This is a dream come true .. a huge thanks obviously to Pedders and especially Mark and Scott for their faith and support and to all the local West Australians who have supported my career to date," said Tom.

"I can't wait for Rally Calder in a month and then QUIT Forest Rally will be extra special, after that we will just have to wait and see," he added.

Pedders Suspension have been long time supporters of Australian rallying and rallying talent supporting Hugh Bell in the mighty Group G "Dazda" and RX7 in the early 80's as well as both Barry Lowe and Ed Ordynski to Australian Rally Championship Success.

Pedders Rally Team competed in both the 1995 and 1998 Round Australia Trials and then ran the familiar Black and Yellow Mitsubishi Evolution Lancers in the Victorian Rally Championship winning in both 1999 and 2000 before moving on to the Australian Rally Championship from 2001-2004 and again in 2010 and 11 with two national event victories and 12 podium results.

Mark Pedder will drive a Honda Jazz G2 car for the factory Honda team in 2012 with brother Scott on the sidelines as the CEO of the 2012 BOSCH Australian Rally Championship.

Round One of the 2012 BOSCH Australian Rally Championship is unique - a stadium-based event all within the three kilometres by one kilometre confines of Calder Park Raceway, 25 minutes drive north-west of the Melbourne CBD on the 1st to 4th March.

A mix of gravel and tarmac as well as unique urban rally challenges face the crews. For more information on the 2012 BOSCH Australian Rally Championship please go to www.rally.com.au  and follow Pedders Rally Team via its Facebook Page.
